A bad back bearing on a bike usually requires a new one. Here are some simple steps to fix it:
1. First, you need to buy a new back bearing. You can go to a bike shop or buy one online. Make sure you choose the right bearing for your bike model.
2. Prepare your tools: You will need a wrench and a screwdriver. You may also need a tire lever if you want to remove the back wheel of your bike.
3. Stop riding and inspect your bike. If the back bearing is really bad, you may hear a clicking sound or feel a bump while riding.
4. Turn the bike over so that the back wheel is off the ground. Then, use the tire lever to loosen the tire from the wheel. Once the tire is loosened, you should be able to see the bearing seat and the back bearing that needs to be replaced.
5. Use a wrench to unscrew the nut that holds the bearing seat. This may require some force, so make sure you hold the wrench steadily.
6. After removing the nut, remove the old back bearing. You may find that the bearing is stuck and needs to be pulled out with force.
7. Place the new back bearing into the bearing seat and make sure it is properly seated on the wheel. Then, tighten the nut by hand until it just holds the bearing. Do not overtighten it or you may damage the bearing.
8. Reinstall the tire and put the wheel back on the bike. Use a wrench to tighten the nut until the bearing seat is fully seated on the wheel.
9. Now you can start riding! If everything is working properly, you should no longer hear the rattling sound and you should not feel any bumps when riding.
