Unlike ball bearings with point contact, this bearing adopts cylindrical rollers to form line contact with raceways, greatly enhancing load-bearing capacity and structural rigidity. Structural Composition and Working Principle

The standard cylindrical roller bearing single row consists of four core parts: inner ring, outer ring, cylindrical roller assembly and retainer (cage). The inner ring is tightly fitted with the rotating shaft, while the outer ring matches the bearing seat to achieve fixed support. The uniformly arranged cylindrical rollers undertake the main load transmission task, and the cage isolates adjacent rollers effectively, preventing mutual friction and collision during operation, which stabilizes the rolling trajectory and improves service life .

A key structural feature of this bearing is its separable design. The inner ring with roller and cage assembly can be completely separated from the outer ring, and vice versa. This separable structure greatly simplifies installation, disassembly and maintenance procedures, especially suitable for equipment requiring frequent bearing inspection and replacement . During operation, the cylindrical rollers roll circumferentially along the raceways of the inner and outer rings, converting sliding friction into low-resistance rolling friction. Main Classification and Structural Characteristics

According to the rib configuration of inner and outer rings, cylindrical roller bearing single row single row are divided into multiple standard types, each with distinct functional characteristics to adapt to different working conditions:

NU Type (Outer Ring Ribbed, Inner Ring Rib-free): This type has rigid ribs on both sides of the outer ring and no ribs on the inner ring. It allows free axial displacement between the inner ring and outer ring, effectively compensating for shaft thermal expansion and assembly errors. It is widely used as floating-end bearings in long shaft transmission systems .

N Type (Inner Ring Ribbed, Outer Ring Rib-free): Contrary to NU type, it has double ribs on the inner ring and no ribs on the outer ring, enabling axial displacement of the outer ring relative to the inner ring, with the same thermal compensation function.

NJ Type (Single-side Positioning Type): Equipped with one rib on one side of the inner ring and double ribs on the outer ring. It can bear unidirectional axial load while carrying radial load, realizing single-direction axial positioning of the shaft system.

NUP Type (Bidirectional Positioning Type): With a fixed rib and a loose rib on the inner ring and double ribs on the outer ring, it can bear bidirectional axial loads and achieve full axial positioning, suitable for fixed-end bearing installation .
