Axial motion can be caused by the bearing itself (for example, cylindrical roller bearings) or by the relative motion of the inner or outer ring of the bearing and its support.
Cross-positioning bearings may consist of ball bearings or roller bearings bearing axial loads simultaneously in at least one direction.
