The heavy duty needle bearing is needle roller bearing with an inner diameter of 8-20 mm .
Heavy duty needle bearing is primarily composed of four basic components: rollers, inner rings, outer rings, and a cage (or retainer). Industrial needle roller bearings generally meet the AISI 52100 standard. The rollers and rings are typically made of high-chromium steel with a Rockwell C-scale hardness of approximately 61-65. The cage has a lower hardness than the balls and rings, and its materials can be metallic (e.g., medium carbon steel, aluminum alloys) or non-metallic.

Heavy duty needle bearing have lower rotational friction resistance than journal bearings, therefore, at the same rotational speed, the temperature generated by friction is lower.
Needle bearing is used in various machines and equipment with rotating parts. Designers often need to decide whether to use ball bearings or fluid film bearings for specific applications. The following characteristics make heavy duty needle bearing more suitable than fluid film bearings in many situations:
1. Low starting friction and suitable operating friction.

4. No self-excited instability.
5. Easy low-temperature starting.

Within a reasonable range, changes in load, speed, and operating temperature have only a small impact on the optimal performance of heavy duty needle bearing.

1. Large variation in finite fatigue life.
2. Requires more radial space.
3. Low damping capacity.
4. More stringent alignment requirements.
