The HK1312 needle bearing is an open-end drawn cup needle roller bearing without an inner ring, featuring compact dimensions of 13 mm bore diameter, 19 mm outer diameter and 12 mm width. It consists of three core components: a hardened stamped steel outer cup, precision cylindrical needle rollers and a steel cage, enabling an ultra-thin radial structure suitable for narrow and limited installation spaces in mechanical assemblies.

HK1312 needle bearing works by clamping its stamped outer shell into a fixed housing, letting the rotating polished shaft serve as the inner race. Caged needle rollers roll between the fixed outer cup and turning shaft, replacing sliding friction with efficient rolling friction to carry heavy radial loads within minimal radial space.

HK1312 needle bearing fundamental working principle is converting sliding friction between the rotating shaft and fixed housing into low-resistance rolling friction. During installation, the thin outer cup is press-fitted into the equipment housing and remains stationary. Instead of a separate inner ring, the hardened and finely ground mating shaft directly serves as the inner raceway. Under operation, radial loads are transferred from the rotating shaft to the evenly arranged needle rollers, which roll smoothly between the shaft surface and the outer cup’s inner wall.

The integrated cage keeps individual needles equally spaced to prevent mutual friction, skew and jitter, ensuring stable high-speed rotation. Designed exclusively for radial loads, this HK1312 needle bearing has almost no axial load capacity. Its open-end structure allows minor axial floating to compensate for shaft thermal expansion and slight assembly misalignment. With a dynamic load rating of 6.6 kN and a static load rating of 8 kN, it delivers far higher load capacity than equivalent miniature ball bearings.
For reliable service, the mating shaft requires a hardness of no less than HRC 58 to avoid premature wear. Proper grease lubrication and regular relubrication are mandatory, and the outer cup must be firmly fixed to prevent slipping. HK1312 needle bearing widely applied in gearboxes, small motors, textile machinery and other precision mechanical equipment.
