What should be inspected for mounted bearings?

As an important part of mechanical equipment, bearing installation problems will not only cause bearing damage, but also cause mechanical equipment damage, and may even cause serious safety accidents, so bearing problems are not small problems.
In order to grasp the installation quality of mounted bearings, it is necessary to carry out the inspection after installation, and several inspection items after installation are for your reference.

1. Inspection of mounted bearings position
After the bearing is installed, first check whether the running parts collide with the fixed parts, whether the lubricating oil can flow into the bearing smoothly, and whether the sealing device and axial fastening device are installed correctly.

2. Inspection of radial clearance
The deep groove ball bearing can be inspected by hand rotation to ensure it is stable, flexible, free of vibration, and free of left and right swing. Cylindrical roller and self-aligning roller bearing can be inspected with a feeler gauge. Insert the feeler gauge between the roller and the bearing ring. The insertion depth of the feeler gauge should be greater than 1/2 of the roller length.
The radial clearance of bearing can be adjusted if it is unqualified after installation, such as angular contact ball bearing and tapered roller bearing; Some of them have been adjusted according to the standard during manufacture, and can't be adjusted again if they are unqualified after installation, such as deep groove ball bearing, self-aligning ball bearing, cylindrical roller bearing, self-aligning roller bearing, etc.
If these bearings fail to pass the inspection after installation and the radial assembly clearance is too small, it means that the matching selection of the bearings is improper or the assembly parts are not processed correctly. At this time, the bearing must be removed, the cause identified, eliminated and reinstalled.

3. inspection tightness of mounted bearings and shoulder
There are usually two inspection methods:
A. Light method: aim the electric lamp at the bearing and shaft shoulder and judge the light leakage. If there is no light leakage, the installation is correct; If there is even light leakage around the bearing, it means that the bearing is not close to the shaft shoulder, and the bearing should be pressed to make it close; If there is partial light leakage, the bearing installation is inclined.
B. Thickness gauge inspection method: the thickness of the thickness gauge should start from 0.03mm. During the inspection, try to insert several places on the whole circumference of the end face of the bearing inner race and the shaft shoulder. If there is a gap and it is very uniform, it means that the bearing is not installed in place. Pressurize the bearing inner race to make it close to the shaft shoulder.

4. Check the noise,temperature and vibration.
Generally, the working temperature of the mounted bearings should be lower than 90 ℃. If the temperature is too high, the bearing will be heated, annealed or burnt, and the service life will be reduced.
Normal equipment operation can only be carried out after the inspection of the above bearings after installation. If the equipment is directly operated for production without the inspection after installation, bearing wear, overheating, reduced service life and other conditions are likely to occur.
Whether before or after installation, the bearing quality and installation effect should be checked to ensure normal operation.
