NK 35 20 bearing and NKI35 20 bearings are widely adopted compact bearing solutions designed for heavy radial loads in limited installation space, yet their structural layout leads to distinct application boundaries for mechanical designers.

NK 35 20 bearing is a needle roller bearing without an inner ring. It consists only of a machined outer ring, needle rollers and a cage assembly. NK35/20 bearing core advantage lies in ultra-compact radial dimensions and lighter weight. To operate normally, the mating shaft surface must be hardened and precision-ground to serve directly as the rolling raceway. This design cuts component count and saves radial space, but imposes strict requirements on shaft material and machining accuracy. Without a dedicated inner ring, maintenance interchangeability is limited if the shaft raceway suffers wear.

In contrast, NKI35 20 bearings is supplied as a complete unit integrated with a precision inner ring. The independent inner ring forms a standardized rolling surface together with outer ring and needle rollers. No special heat treatment or grinding work on the shaft is required during assembly. It delivers stable rotational precision, convenient installation and better interchangeability during after-sales replacement. The trade-off is a larger overall outer diameter and slightly higher weight compared with NK 35 20 bearing. Both models feature integral guiding flanges on outer rings and built-in lubrication grooves, supporting continuous relubrication and high radial load capacity.

For application selection, NK 35 20 bearing is preferred for well-engineered equipment with pre-hardened shafts, including compact gearboxes, motorcycle transmissions and light hydraulic components, where minimizing radial envelope is prioritized. NKI35/20 bearings fits general machinery with standard untreated shafts, such as machine tool auxiliary shafts, conveyor rollers, textile machinery and electric power tools. It is also the primary choice for batch production to reduce secondary shaft processing costs.
