How to install rod end plain bearings?

Rod end plain bearings are spherical sliding bearings, mainly composed of an inner ring with an outer spherical surface and an outer ring with an inner spherical surface, which can withstand large loads. According to its different types and structures, it can withstand radial loads, axial loads, or combined loads that exist both radially and axially.
It is generally used for swinging movements with lower speeds, and can also be tilted within a certain angle range. When the support shaft and the shaft shell hole are not concentric, it can still work normally.
Due to the large spherical sliding contact area and inclination angle of joint bearings, as well as the fact that most rod end plain bearings adopt special processing methods such as surface phosphating, galvanizing, chrome plating, or external sliding surface lining, pad insertion, spraying, etc. Therefore, it has a large load capacity and impact resistance, and has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, wear resistance, self centering, good lubrication or self-lubricating without lubricating dirt pollution. Even if installed incorrectly, it can work normally.
Therefore, joint bearings are widely used for lower speed swing, tilt, and rotation movements.

Installation and disassembly
1. In areas where a press is missing or cannot be used, end rod joint bearings can be installed using assembly sleeves and small hammers.
2. For medium or large rod end plain bearings with large interference, the commonly used method is hot fitting. Before hot installation, place the end rod joint bearing or separable joint bearing sleeve into the oil tank or special heater and heat it evenly to 80-100 ℃, not exceeding 100 ℃.
3. After removing the rod end plain bearings from the heating oil tank or heater, it should be immediately wiped off with a clean cloth to remove any oil stains and attachments on the surface (note not to use cotton yarn), and then placed in front of the mating surface. In one operation, push the joint bearing to the point where it is against the shaft shoulder. During the cooling process, the joint bearing should always be pushed tightly or lightly tapped with a small hammer through the assembly sleeve to make it tight. When installing the end rod joint bearing, the joint bearing should be slightly rotated to avoid tilting or jamming during installation.
4. When the outer ring of the rod end joint bearings is tightly matched with the housing hole, the housing can also be heated and installed into the joint bearing.
