The cooperation between bearings, shafts and bearing housings is determined by ISO tolerance between shaft and bearing, tolerance between shaft and bearing ΔDmp.
tolerance between shaft and bearing zone, ISO tolerance between shaft and bearing is defined in the form of tolerance zone. tolerance between shaft and bearing zones are determined by their distance from the reference line (= tolerance zone position) and dimensional difference (= tolerance zone grade). tolerance between shaft and bearing zone positions are indicated by letters (uppercase letters indicate seat hole tolerance between shaft and bearing and lowercase letters indicate shaft tolerances).

There may be deviations in specific applications, such as those related to operating accuracy, smoothness of operation, or operating temperature. Higher operating accuracy requires smaller tolerance between shaft and bearing, such as higher tolerances than level 5. If the temperature of the inner ring of the bearing is higher than that of the bearing during operation, the fit will loosen and exceed the allowable value. This requires a tighter fit, such as replacing m6 with k6
