The Bearing 6304 C3 is a standard single-row deep groove ball bearing, typically measuring 20*52*15mm
Known for high-speed capability and moderate load capacity, Bearing 6304 C3 it is widely used in electric motors, automotive transmissions, and industrial machinery. It is available as open, shielded (ZZ), or sealed (2RS).
Bearing 6304 C3 Key Specifications & Features
Dimensions: 20mm(ID)*52mm(OD)*15mm(Thickness)
Variants:
Open: No seals, for oil bath lubrication.
ZZ/2Z: Metal shields on both sides, pre-lubricated.
2RS/DDU: Rubber seals on both sides for superior protection against dust and water.

High carbon chromium bearing steel (GCr15/AISI 52100): the most commonly used standard material, accounting for over 80% of the world's total bearing steel production. Its characteristics are high and uniform hardness after heat treatment, high contact fatigue strength, suitable for high load and high-speed working conditions.
Stainless steel (AISI 440C/304/316): used in damp or corrosive environments.
440C: Has good hardness and corrosion resistance, commonly used in medical and light industry.
304/316: It has stronger rust resistance but lower hardness, and is mostly used in food processing or strong acid and alkali environments.
Ceramics: such as silicon nitride (Si3N4) or zirconium oxide (ZrO2).
All ceramic: high temperature resistance (up to 1000 ° C or above), strong corrosion resistance, insulation, non-magnetic.
Mixed ceramics: Steel rings paired with ceramic balls, suitable for extremely high speeds (ceramic balls are lightweight and have low friction).
Engineering plastics: such as PEEK, nylon POM。 It has self-lubricating and corrosion-resistant properties, suitable for special occasions such as light loads, weight sensitivity, or requiring complete demagnetization

What is C3 clearance?
Bearing 6304 C3 purpose: When a temperature difference occurs between the shaft and the housing during the operation of the bearing, or when the bearing itself heats up due to high-speed operation, the ball bearings and inner and outer rings will expand. The additional space provided by C3 clearance can prevent bearings from getting stuck due to expansion.
Applicable scenarios: Commonly used in electric motors, AC generators, gearboxes, and other high heat or high-speed industrial machinery.
Attention: In low-speed applications that do not require thermal expansion compensation, using C3 bearings may result in unnecessary vibration or noise due to excessive clearance.
- Electric Motors: Industrial and household motors.
- Automotive: Transmissions, clutch systems, and wheel hubs.
- Machinery: Agricultural equipment, conveyors, and pumps.
Important Tips
Clearance: Check for C3 (greater than normal) clearance if the bearing operates under high temperatures.
Installation: When pressing, apply force only to the race that is being fitted (inner race for shaft fit, outer race for housing fit).
Sealing: 2RS seals should not be compressed beyond their limit during installation to prevent deformation.
